About India Yates
India Yates is a solo, independent, acoustic singer/songwriter based in Oxfordshire, UK. A multi-instrumentalist, she plays a mix of original songs and covers on acoustic guitar and with her soulful mezzo-soprano voice.
Her sepia-toned songs evoke the sounds of the 1970s, drawing in comparisons to Carly Simon, Joan Baez and Linda Ronstadt.
Since 2017, India has been a regular and much loved performer at local festivals, events and gigs in and around Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Norfolk. These include the Beacon Festival, Thame Town Music Festival and being a seasoned performer at the renowned First Thursday Music Club.
India's most recent EP, Love Letters (2023), has been widely well-received, with over a thousand streams on Spotify and has been played on BBC radio.
